Ben Wilkins is a pharmacist, director, and health strategist dedicated to ensuring his community achieves the best possible health outcomes.

Registered as a pharmacist since 1994, Ben brings over three decades of experience across community pharmacy, accredited pharmacist services, governance, and digital health innovation.

Ben is credentialled as a pharmacist prescriber in Qld/NSW, holds advanced practice qualifications from James Cook University. 

Ben also provides in-clinic education to GPs and specialists in the following areas: weight management, men’s health including post-prostatectomy, respiratory and vaccination areas of interest.

Alongside his clinical practice as proprietor of Eastern Road Pharmacy and Men’s Health Downunder - North Shore, Ben contributes nationally through governance and advisory roles.

He currently serves as a National Director on the Pharmaceutical Defence Limited (PDL) Board, supporting pharmacists with professional indemnity insurance and risk management.

He is also a Non-Executive Director at Hunter Primary Care and contributes to finance and risk oversight.

Since 2019, Ben has been a Digital Health Advisor with the Australian Digital Health Agency, helping shape national strategies for interoperability and clinician-led design.

Ben’s leadership extends to prior ministerial appointments, including eight years on the Pharmacy Board of Australia (where he chaired the Finance, Risk and Governance Committee) and four years on the Hunter New England Local Health District Board, serving a population of over one million. 

He is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, reflecting his commitment to strong governance and strategic stewardship.

Passionate about combining clinical expertise with technological innovation, Ben has also directed Vitality for Life, delivering pharmacogenetic profiling and nutrition medicine services.

Ben is also accredited for compounding and Home Medicines Review services, with a special interest in gut health, men’s health, and chronic disease management.

His career reflects a consistent focus on empowering pharmacists, advancing digital health, and improving patient-centred care across Australia.
