You may change the day of the week you use Tirzepatide KwikPen as long as your last dose was taken 2 or more days before.
You can take Tirzepatide KwikPen with or without food.
Take Tirzepatide KwikPen once a week, on the same day every week, exactly as prescribed by your health care provider.
Always follow your healthcare provider's instructions on how to use Tirzepatide KwikPen.
Seeing liquid left in your Tirzepatide Pen after all four doses is completely normal.
Here's why:
Each Tirzepatide Pen contains 3mL of liquidThis means there's 0.6mL remaining as an overfill which is part of the Kwiken's current design.
After the fourth does of tirzepatide is delivered, medication will remain in the KwikPen.
This is expected (see image below) and ensures that the KwikPen operates correctly.
You will be unable to dial an additional complete dose, and patients should be advised not to attempt injection of the leftover medication.
The KwikPen and remaining solution should be discarded.

Note for women of child-bearing age:
This medicine is not to be used in pregnancy.
While animal studies have shown potential risks - such as reduced fetal growth and skeletal abnormalities - human data is still emerging.
A large Australian study found that only 21% of women prescribed GLP-1 agonists were using contraception, and 2.2% became pregnant within six months of starting treatment.
Weight loss from GLP-1s may improve fertility, especially in women with PCOS (Polycystic Ovary Syndrome), increasing the chance of unplanned conception.
Most guidelines recommend discontinuing GLP-1 agonists if pregnancy is planned or confirmed.
As such, it is relevant to ensure that reproductive health is part of every conversation when this medicine is prescribed to any woman of childbearing age.
Routine care means contraception has been discussed with your prescriber.
Our pharmacists are pleased to interact and discuss your queries.
